    • Funny you should say that. I’ve read online that some of the game was actually copied from several other games including stuff like the game engine, sprites and music. And some parts of the game are actually taken from Knights of the Round (from what I’ve read). So, good eye! You’re observation is really bang on 🙂 Which might explain why it was never a licensed game.

  1. Yeah, I was thinking of a specific game this one resembled and couldn’t remember the name, until TomTom mentioned Knights of the Round. They seem very similar 🙂

    • Knights of the Round is a cool game so if the original company who made Shui Hu Feng Yun Zhuan decided they were going to take a few liberties at least they “borrowed” from some good games 🙂

    • Hi Luis!
I saw those sprite enhancements for Project Y. So nice! Even the old versions were looking good and the upgrades fantastic. I love seeing that Project Y is getting so much TLC.
If you’re able to share anymore ‘tid bits’ I’d love to share them. I will definitely write a post about these recently graphics improvement and I’d love to include whatever else I can.
If you like, you can email me at segadude@retromegabit.com or my older address at thesegadude@gmail.com.
I was actually going to include a Project Y update in this post but later changed my mind and decided to write a separate one. I think my site auto email notice might have made reference to Project Y but this finalized blog post does not.

    • Same here. For a long time I’ve been looking for cover art to print up for the loose cart that I have. There is not much out there for this game. But that’s about to change now that it’s getting a new release. 🙂
And even if your wife cannot, I really do appreciate how seriously devoted you are to Shui Hu Feng Yun Zhuan! 🙂
