Check out this great review of Super Fighter Team’s recent English release of Star Odyssey.
Fellow WordPress blogger Geelw gives some great details and comments with very minimal spoilers. If for some reason you’re on the fence about this Genesis release be sure to check the link above.

General tag for all things SEGA.
So it cost me an extra $15 for have a replacement game sent because my original order never arrived. But in the end I have my copy of Star Odyssey. I’m looking forward to checking out this Sci-fi RPG.
In the picture you’ll see Star Odyssey and Legend of Wukong. Both are from Super Fighter Team.
I didn’t really need joysticks but I couldn’t resist picking these up anyways.
The two boxes at the bottom of the picture are new in the box. I couldn’t believe how great their condition is. Together they cost $20 plus shipping.
The multi-tap is also like new and I got it because I had a plan to use it to extend my wireless RF receiver such that I could place the receiver on my TV for better reception for my wireless joystick. Later I realized I just need two joystick extension cords.
The black boxed joystick I received when I bought a boxed Genesis ($45) off craigslist. It’s not like new and the joystick inside is broken.
A day or two ago I realized that I have not received my copy or Star Odyssey from Super Fighter Team that I ordered in July.
I emailed Brandon and inquired about it. Turns out one package had been returned to him because of a bad address. Returned and very badly damaged. Brandon took my word for it and he will be shipping me another copy. I agreed to pay for shipping again and I feel lucky for it. I have no proof to offer Brandon that I never did receive it but he’s a very nice guy and he never doubted me for a moment.
If you’re still into your Genesis/Mega Drive and don’t know about Super Fighter Team you should check out their site. I’ll be ordering every Genesis release they offer 🙂
My previous blog about Star Odyssey.
Every now and again I discover a cool looking game that I missed when it was new. I remember seeing the first Turrican and never bothered with it because I really didn’t like the cover art. The Turrican Accolade version turned me off a game that I think might actually be pretty good.
Not too long ago I started seeing Mega Turrican on ebay for about $60. Several were posted and they were all asking a pretty high amount. It intrigued me. Almost out of the blue, this game that I have never bothered with had a lot of presence on ebay and sellers seemed to think it was worth a lot money. Of course I wanted it but I couldn’t justify the price despite the fact that the cover art for this version is really good.
Then a few weeks later I found another ebay listing for Mega Turrican by DataEast and the starting price was $10. So I jumped in… and of course I ended up paying more than I planned ($36 with shipping). But this copy is in excellent shape and when I tried the game out I was surprised. At first I didn’t think much of it. It Seemed simple in design and hard to play. But as I played a bit more I discovered there is a lot more to this game. It has some real game mechanics that are really well implemented. At first I was having a hard time when there was a need to jump while shooting at enemies, then I discovered that you could jump by pressing up and to the right or left to jump which made things much easier. Then I realized that you actually have a health meter, a grappling hook, an energy wheel mode and about 5 weapon power ups.
The case artwork is great, the graphics are great and the game play has some real appeal. I haven’t played enough to make a verdict but as it is this game is now on the ‘to do list’.
Now this is what I’m talk’in about 🙂
$9 for Light Crusader and $19 for Genesis 6-Pak; each including shipping and both factory sealed.
I’ve always wanted this 6-pak collection because it would have been something pretty awesome back in the day and it includes some excellent titles.
I’ve never played Light Crusader but it looks pretty good and I would like to give it a go… but it’s factory sealed. I’ll have to find a cheap cart some day.
