I really enjoy writing this blog. Despite being very inconsistent about when I post or what I write about it’s a great extension to playing and collecting these retro video games that I’m so obsessed with.
What I didn’t expect was how much more fun it is finding people who (for reason’s unknown! 😛 ) want to see what I’m up to next. Most of you are very quiet but I know you’re there. And that feels good. Thank you.
Very recently I hit 100 followers…
I actually don’t like the term ‘followers’. To me it implies a distinction or elevation of one over the other; which is not the case here. To me this blog is more akin to meeting a friend of a friend. A social and level playing field. I don’t know a better term other than ‘Retro Comrades’. Which is what I’ve labeled the widget to the right that lists many of you.
In this massive Interweb of ours 100 is not considered very significant. But today it is… at least for me. So, for fun, I’d like to give away a copy of Ashley Riot’s Classic Women of Gaming.
First I’m going to qualify 100. For starters I’m not following my own blog! And yes, I have signed up a few close friends without their consent but it has been many years and they have not removed themselves. So I’m declaring that this tiny milestone is straight up legit!
Even if a few of you drop out I’ll still move forward with this as 100 has in fact happened, even if it doesn’t last.
The rules? Just write a comment on this post about how you would enjoy this print by Ashley or what you might do with it (put it in your game room or give it to a friend). Or write a comment about this blog… or whatever. A lot of effort or just a little will all count the same.
I’ll draw a name from everyone who comments and mail the winner a print of Classic Women of Gaming. It’s approximately two feet long and I personally feel that it really rocks.
Comment before Wednesday May 27th 11:59 pm in order to be entered in the draw.
And if you miss out but still really want a print you can contact the artist directly from where I found her at http://jocelynada.deviantart.com.
Congratulations on 100 Game Comrades! I like that poster but I wouldn’t want you to send it to me as it’d probably be an expensive ordeal for you (shipping to Sweden I’d reckon isn’t that cheap). I’ll stick around, you’ve made me realize I greatly need a Genesis/Mega Drive (with the preferred version being Mega Drive 2 if you have no objections). Also I’ve just ordered a complete dreamcast with 10 games! I’m becoming more and more of a SEGA fan (though my heart beats for all games… well not the bad ones though!).
I hope you’ll keep on writing and that you’ll stay a die hard SEGA fan and meet a lot of new Game Comrades, this blog (and you in extension) deserves that.
Sweden? No problem. You count too. You’re in! And so far your odds are very good 😛
Yes, there should always be love for games from all platforms.
I hope you end up getting that Sega Mega Drive. I’d be very curious to hear about whatever games you try out for it. Sooo many great games 🙂
I haven’t played the Dreamcast as much as the Genesis (Mega Drive) But I really enjoyed Phantasy Star Online, Shemue and Grandia 2. Let me know what gems you find for it!

I sure will! 😄 The games that come with it are:
(Dream Key V2 och Dream on Volume 1)
Rainbow Six (US version, NTSC)
Rainbow Six Rogue Spear
Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
Hidden & Dangerous
Chu Chu Rocket!
I forgot about Legacy of Kain. That’s another one I really liked. I also played Hidden & Dangerous on the PC and it’s also very good.

The games I’ll also get will be Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Silver, Typing of the Dead, Shenmue etc. But first I’ll play through the ones I got! 😀
Ha! I won’t enter because all I’d do is take that poster and figure out how to turn it into custom postage stamps, a print for a pair of boxers, a really large jigsaw puzzle or the coolest cake art ever. None of which i actually have TIME to do, mind you… 😀
So if you don’t have time for any of that then maybe… just maybe you’d end up hanging it up somewhere. That would do. You’re in!
Congrats on hitting a century! I hope it means you’ll keep up the good work because it gives me plenty of incentive to get my own game room sorted out. 🙂
If only one person sets up (or sorts out) a retro video gaming room because of me then I’ve done my job 🙂
By the way, you’re own site is looking really good! -> http://thelatenightsession.com
OK, three comments and three contenders!
I used randome.org to compile a list of all three of your names. I decided that whomever came up as number one after the list was randomized would be the winner.
And the winner is The Night Owl!
Night Owl if you would like this print be sure to email me your shipping address to TheSegaDude@gmail.com.
Damn it! Can’t believe i missed out on this one ;D
You can still have one if you like 🙂 This print that I’m mailing to The Night Owl is 18×24 and cost me $30 USD plus shipping.
If you’re interested you can contact the artist here http://queenriot.storenvy.com/contact
Cool ^_^ but it’s more fun winning things ;D haha
Poster received in the mail yesterday! Have to say it’s even better seeing it for real – really looks amazing and perfect for framing. Thank you!!! 🙂
Hey Night Owl! You’re welcome.
I’m glad it arrived safely and I’m really pleased to hear that you like it even more up-close!
I also have one that I had MDF plaque mounted. I also think it looks great 🙂 And plaque mounting leaves it perfectly matte so there will be no glare or reflections that might make it hard to see once I get it up on a wall… not sure where to put it yet.
