These are good times we live in! On November 5, 2012 Watermelon Team launched their Kickstarter campaign for Pier Solar HD. What’s happening is Watermelon Team is taking their amazing 16-bit RPG video game Pier Solar and the Great Architects originally made for the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis in 2010 and enhancing the graphics and making the game available for Xbox360, PC, Mac, Lunix and the Sega Dreamcast.
There is still time to browse your way over to the Pier Solar HD Kickstarter and pledge for a reward of your choice before December 5, 2012.
“Pier Solar is the biggest 16-bit RPG ever and it’s coming to you in high definition for Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux & Sega Dreamcast!”
As soon as I discovered this I immediately pledged $185.00 for the Pier Solar Japanese Collectors Edition for the Sega Dreamcast (which includes the Pier Solar Guide book among other cool things) and for the Pier Solar North American Regular Edition for the Sega Dreamcast. I may end up with the Regular edition for PC as well but we’ll see.
Although you should 😛 You don’t have to go wild like I have. You can get your copy of Pier Solar and the Great Architects for as little as $15 for a digital download for Xbox360, PC, Mac or Linux. This is an amazing deal for an outstanding HD classically styled RPG video game.
Below is a before and after comparison of the 16-bit version next to the HD remastered release. Click on the image for the full HD screen shot. Looks brilliant! Check out the Pier Solar HD Kickstarter for many more images.
If you’re still not sure what Pier Solar is all about head over to Sega-16.com for an excellent review that I thoroughly agree with. This is a wonderful game and not something to be missed by any gamer.
And of course be sure to check out the many details about Pier Solar and the Great Architects at Watermelon Team’s Kickstarter.
