  1. Interestingly enough, you can make it through Exile with no Japanese knowledge if you’ve played the US version at least once from start to finish. Except for one or two areas, the game is pretty linear.

That said, the PC-Engine/Turbo Grafx version is the best, as it’s not edited (the Genesis version chops out some major story points and loses the cinemas from the CD). The one thing I like more about the Genesis version is one or two tunes from the cart, but the Cd version is still the one to get (I think it’s redbook audio, so you can pop it into a CD player and listen to it). There was an Exile sequel for the Duo, but I didn’t like it as much back when I played it…

    • I’m starting to realize that the Turbo Grafx-16 is a pretty solid system. I need a power cable for mine. I should hurry up and get one. I’m getting more and more eager to try it out.
Maybe the Turbo Grafx-16 CD version is cheaper than the Genesis version. I’ll have to check it out.

      • I think the Duo version of Exile may cost more as Working Designs handled the port (The Genesis version was by Renovation) and their stuff is usually more expensive. I haven’t looked it up in a while, but you may find a good deal on it and a few of their other TG-16/Duo games (Cosmic Fantasy 2, Cadash, Vasteel and others). I know Exile 2: Wicked Phenomenon is expensive, as I can recall selling mine off a long time back for more than I paid for it…

Yeah, get that power cable – I know you’ll love a LOT of TG-16 games, especially when you can compare MD versions to a few of them…
