What started out as a cool web comic is close to becoming a full fledged action platformer video game with a ‘physical release’ for the PC-Egine / TubroGrafx-16 and PC.
“Henshin Engine is a mixed-media project created by Sarumaru and the Henshin Engine Committee. The project Inspired by the PC Engine video game system and games of the 8-bit and 16-bit gaming eras.
This story follows gamer-gal Yuki Shirokawa who just started an apprenticeship for the Jipang Electronics Corporation (JEC). Her favorite gaming console is the FX-Engine, a product of JEC. She later discovers something crazy about her beloved FX-Engine that would change her life.”
What’s this Sarumaru? Yes, ok… I’m listening. Please continue!
“Henshin-Engine : The GAME continues where the comic leaves off. Henshin-Engine for the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 is set to release in the first quarter of 2017. a 2D action platformer running on REAL classic gaming hardware for a true Retro-Experience!”
As soon as I saw the game in action I pledged and added my contribution to this fantastic looking Indie game.

With a full 22 days left in the Kickstarter Campaign Henshin Engine The GAME is getting very close to becoming a reality.
Are you a Retro Gamer? Do you love your PC-Engine / TurboGrafx-16? Help support this game.
The first Stretch Goal for Henshin Engine The GAME is a release on the Sega Dreamcast in addition to the PC-Engine / TurbGrafx-16. That should help reach a lot more gamers as I’m guessing a lot more of us have the Dreamcast. There is even a chance via the 3rd stretch goal for a physical cartridge release for one of Super NES, Sega CD/Genesis/MD, GB etc. To be determined by vote.

I’ll hold out until last last minute on this, only because I spent waaaaay too much this past month and want so see where the budget is by then.
I hear ya. Budgeting is one of the most important things in life. It’s hard to enjoy the video games if the bills aren’t paid!
I’m currently budgeting for both a TG-16 and Dreamcast version of Henshin-Engine : The GAME! Hopefully they reach their stretch goals.
I’m also saving to buy the physical release of Assault Suit Leynos for the PS4 soon. There really are too many games!
